Treacherous Hike!

So we went online and found a hike nearby our new house up to see some waterfalls. We started out and the trail was really really steep and not very defined and a straight drop off into a raging river. That probably should have been the time we turned around, but we kept going and it got worse and worse until it started to rain and we decided that we should probably head back. It was really scary with Isabella in a backpack on my front and Cody in a backpack on Kasey's back, we ended up sliding down on our butts some of the time, but we made it safe and sound!! As we were driving back we realized that we missed the actual trail! So we'll go back to the REAL trail and try again another day. :)

We've done a lot of fun things since being here in Bountiful. The kids and I went to Salt Lake with our niece Halee, and then Kasey's brother and sister Bret and Arianne stayed with us for a day and we spent some time with them in Salt Lake. I feel bad that we don't have any pictures with them, but it was really fun to have Kasey's whole family out here for his brother's wedding. A fire truck stopped right in front of our car and the fireman offered to give us a tour of the truck! Cody thought it was so awesome!

I am loving being a full time stay at home mom! Here's just some pictures of us chilling at home together. Cody is potty training!!!!! Holy cow, it's tried my patience more than anything I've ever done I think. He's doing really well with it now though. How come no one ever tells you about these things before you have kids!?!

Heritage Park

Yesterday we went to Heritage Park where Brigham Young said, "This is the right place". It was really fun! The kids had a BLAST! We panned for gold, rode the train, (Cody calls it the Dinosaur train), rode horses (Cody's FAVORITE thing in the entire world), pet some animals, and even tried doing some pioneer chores. It was a fun day!

Cody and Isabella are always wanting to help me. They are so fun to do work with because they always want to be right there doing it with me! I love it. Isabella found the broom and did all of this all on her own. She even found the garbage can and threw the dirt away by herself. It was so funny. I just stood there and laughed and snapped pictures. (the pictures are in the wrong order, but you get the idea) :)

Here are some pictures from our cruise. We spent a day in the Everglades, then went to three islands in the Bahamas. It was really fun and nice to have a get away! We really missed the kids but they did great with Kasey's parents in Colorado!

Graduation

Well we finally did it! We graduated! It was a great day and an awesome experience. We really appreciate all the support we got both during graduation and all the time we were going through school.

So I really wanted to have a little garden this year, but we obviously don't have any land, so I just bought some pots and planted some Basil, a few flowers, and a tomato plant. Kasey will tell you I'm a plant killer, (which I am), but I kept my tomatoes alive long enough to get a few!!! I was SO excited. I just have a hard time watering my plants, I really don't know why it's so hard for me. Next year my goal is to keep at least two of my plants alive for longer than 3 months. I'll let you know how it goes. :)

Cody is just our sweet little man. He is so fun to be around. He thinks everything is hilarious and is seriously the best big brother in the world. He LOVES his daddy, and loves wrestling, balls, jumping, and playing hard. He is getting a little attitude, but he is still so sweet most of the time. :)

Here are a bunch a pictures of Isabellie just over the summer so you can kinda see her different stages. She is THE sweetest, happiest, most perfect baby in the world. We thought we would call her Bella, but we never do. We call her Isabella, Bell, Bellie, Bellie-girl, Bellie-boo, Bells, Isabellie, and whatever else comes out. She loves her big brother more than anything else. He always says "happy Bell!" or "here go Bellie giril"(thats how he says Bellie girl). I love that they just adore eachother.

YES WE ARE ALIVE!! I know some of you have been wondering. We are doing so good and enjoying every minute of having a beautiful baby girl and a sweet adventurous 2 year old!! We are going to school (still) but we will graduate in April!!! YAY!!!! I missed the whole entire summer and most of the fall so I decided to just post a few pictures of what happened over that past like EIGHT months. I know there is no way I can catch up all of that so I'll just do a few pictures and then go from here.

IT'S A GIRL!!!

Isabella Jane Pearce was born on February 26, 2010. She weighed 7 lbs 9oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. She is such a beautiful baby girl. She had pneumonia when she was first born so she had to be in the NICU for a little over a week, but she is home now and is doing great!!! The one word all the doctors and nurses in the hospital described her as was "feisty". She is so sweet but she definitely has a personality and a mind of her own already. It's really cute. We LOVE having a little girl. Kasey is totally getting in to all the bows and I think his new favorite color is pink. :) It's been pretty crazy around here with two babies, but we're starting to adjust. Cody threw our camera in the toilet and the lens got a little warped, so some of these pictures have a fuzzy spot on them, but you can still tell how pretty she is.

Big brother Cody

Cody has been such a good big brother. He was really unsure of having a new little person in the house, I think at first he thought she was just going to go away, but now he is learning to not hit the baby in the face, how to give kisses, and he always comes and gives us her binky for her. He is so so much fun. He is learning new words everyday and is a very sweet, fun, polite little boy. He thinks EVERYTHING is funny, which makes discipline a trick cause everything we try to do he just laughs at. We love his fun happy spirit though. My dad put his reading glasses on Cody. He thought he was pretty awesome.

We went on a little hike and geo caching up at rock canyon a few weeks ago! It was so fun and really pretty and we found 3 caches! Cody loved it.... until he fell asleep.

A couple of weeks ago we went to Cascade Springs and saw all the fall colors. It was so fun. Kasey and i went up there just a few weeks after we had been dating so it brought back fun memories. Cody got some fun new things for his birthday and a new car seat! He's so excited about sitting forward facing now! We had a little party and carved pumpkins.... Our Boys had their birthdays this week! It was really fun. Cody turned ONE!!! I can't believe it has been a whole year since he joined our family. Kasey turned 25 and is now an old man. But we love him any way. :) Cody had a Blast with his cake! I made him a little Cody cake and then i made another cake that looked like a monkey cause we always call him our monkey baby. He had a really good day! (Kasey liked his cake too)

so the other day kasey and I were doing laundry and there was a bunch of clothes just sitting around Cody and we weren't paying a lot of attention to him but we looked over and he had pulled all the clothes around him and on top of him. it totally looks like we arranged it but he did it all by himself! We looked over and he just sat there smiling like crazy! It was so funny. it really seemed like he was just playing with us. He's such a ham! We love him so so much.

Ok i just spent the last HOUR trying to get a new cute layout and background for my blog and i couldn't figure it out AT ALL so i just spent all the time I had working on that and i have lots to write and lots of cute pictures but i don't have any more time so maybe I'll try to find some time tomorrow. Cookie dough and self control
Ok so we made cookies on Sunday and we made a WHOLE batch instead of just a half like we usually do cause we were going to give them away but they didn't turn out very good so we decided not to, but the cookie dough is so so good so i keep eating just raw cookie dough. I will get a little bit out and then put it completely away so i won't keep eating it, but I go back and start my homework, and two seconds later i find myself over at the fridge again pulling it out! I think i have eaten probably 10 cookies today just with raw cookie dough. Am I pathetic or what!? I hope i don't get salmonella. I'm such a sucker for anything that tastes good... and sometimes for anything edible whether it tastes good or not! :) Anyway, just wanted to share a major weakness i have. I really hope i'm not the only one cause that would be embarrassing. :)

Cody is learning to eat rice cereal! He really really likes it! It's fun to have him start to eat like a real person! I don't know why that is so exciting but every time kase and i get to feed him cereal we're really excited. He gets it everywhere and it's really cute.

So for the past month or so I have been going through the application process for the dietetics program at BYU. Last week i found out that i was accepted in the program and I start in Fall!! I'm so so excited. It took me a really long time with LOTS of fasting and LOTS of prayers to decide if i should continue going to school or if it would be best to just be a mom for my little Cody but i really feel like going to school is the right thing for me right now. I don't know why, but it just feels right. Now that i have my answer, i just feel really really excited!! I can't wait to learn about nutrition and be able to help other people. It is going to be a lot more work and stress and sacrifice, but i really think that it will be worth it in the long run! Kasey and I will graduate together in spring 2011!

So today I was holding Cody as he was waking up from his nap and i noticed that his blanket was a little wet, but i felt him and i couldn't feel any wet spots on him where he peed or anything so i just dismissed it. Well, a few seconds later i noticed that my shirt felt a little wet, but it wasn't really bad so i didn't worry about it. Then i sat him down on the couch for just one second and when i picked him up there was a big puddle. Ok, by now you would think i would get the hint and just go change his diaper, but this shows either how stupid i am, or how inexperienced i am, but i still didn't feel anything wet on him so I just thought i had spilled his juice on the couch or something, because he still seriously wasn't wet at all on his clothes or anything. THEN i felt my hand filling up with liquid. I'm not kidding from the time i could get from the living room to his bedroom to change him we were both soaking wet with pee. I didn't even know babies could pee that much all at once! The weird thing was that his diaper wasn't really that wet and it was on nice and snug and everything! Go figure. That was our adventure for the day! It was really funny. If it was poop or something i don't think i would be laughing, but a little pee never hurt anyone right? And thank heavens we're not rich enough to have a leather couch, so it cleaned up just fine by the way. :) PS the picture doesn't have anything to do with the story, i just thought it was a cute one!

ADVENTURE OF THE DAY!

So Cody and I had a few great adventures today. First we went to the doctor. (Kasey got him ready while i was at school) The Doctor said that he was really healthy and even a little ahead on some things for his age, but he's only in the 30 percentile for weight, 50 for height, and 70 for head circumference. (he has a really big head i guess!) The doctor said i should start giving him apple juice so we went home and tried some apple juice in a bottle! Cody does NOT like apple juice! at least not yet. We're still working on it. As soon as he took a sip and realized that it wasn't formula he started screaming like crazy! It was really funny. So i tried to trick him by giving him some formula and then sneaking a few sips of apple juice in between. He was not fooled. As soon as that apple juice bottle went in he starting screaming, and when i took it out and put the other bottle in he calmed right down. I don't know what his problem is! I love apple juice! I think it will just take a little time for him to get used to how sweet it is. Also today we tried rice cereal for the second time. He still kind of spit it out, but it went a LOT better than last time! He is such a sweet sweet boy. Right now he is looking out the window with his daddy!

Ok so I know most of you reading this are really on my blog to see Cody, (i definitely don't blame you, he is pretty cute) :) So i'll start with things about him first and then if i have some time, maybe i write a little bit about myself.
Cody is a little over 4 months now and is just the most perfect, sweetest, most charming, lovable little boy there ever was. (I'm sure every single mother out there would beg to differ, but that's what i think any way!) He really is just so fun and so sweet. I LOVE being a mom! I was always worried that it would be too boring or too stressful or too much work, but i was DEFINITELY wrong about the boring part, and it is a little stressful and quite a bit of work, but i seriously wouldn't trade it for the world!!
Cody is the most ticklish person i have ever met. Sometimes he gets it moods where all i have to do is look like i'm about to tickle him and he starts laughing his head off. I think it is so funny! He loves playing with his toys and he LOVES chewing on his hands. He found his little feet recently and will spend forever just trying to grab them and put them in his mouth. He's not very flexible for a little baby so he doesn't ever get them very far, but thats ok by me, i'd rather not have him be sucking on his feet all day anyway i guess. :)
right now he just woke up from his nap and i can hear him in his crib talking and yelling to himself. I always wonder if he really thinks he's talking like us or if he's just having fun making noise, either way he makes a LOT of noise. Sometimes its just little happy noises, sometimes it's really LOUD happy noises and sometimes i can't tell if it's a happy noise or he's yelling to get my attention or just what?
